Diz-What? DIZGO—that’s who!

Seeing Dizgo Live will make you question everything you thought you knew about live music. - Mark

Let me set the scene: two rare, back-to-back nights away from family to see Dogs in a Pile—a band currently blazing into their Winter Tour. Pretty nonhumble brag for Dogs in a Pile. They were just announced at Bonoroo. Now, Dizgo. What was supposed to be just another opener-warmup turned into one of the most electrifying and memorable musical experiences of my life at the Brooklyn Bowl in Philly on October 26, 2024.

This wasn’t supposed to happen—not for them, not for me. But DIZGO happened. And if you haven’t caught them live yet, let me be your friendly PSA: you’re missing out on something cosmic. If you’re already a little too Curio, give them a listen

When the Opener Becomes the Main Event

I’ll admit it—I’ve slept on openers before. Haven’t we all? But something about the way DIZGO hit that stage made me stop mid-conversation. Their confidence, their energy, their absolute command of the room was impossible to ignore. But that’s not what punched me right between the eyes…..It was the joy these 4 men demonstrated as soon as that first cord struck.

No pretense, no wasted breath—just pure, unapologetic talent pouring off the stage. Frontman Andrew Pickle didn’t need to convince us to pay attention. They let their art stand for what they were about. And what they were about was none stop F’n as the jamband kiddo’s say these days.

Their set felt less like an opener and more like a grand finale—a whirlwind of melting guitar riffs, pulsating basslines, soul-piercing keys, and precision-tight percussion. It wasn’t just a performance; it was an experience.

More Than Just a Band—It’s a Movement

Mid-set, Andrew casually dropped the band’s name a few times—DIZGO, DIZGO, DIZGO—burning it into our minds without missing a beat. From a branding perspective, I respected the hell out of it.

But here’s the thing: these guys aren’t just skilled musicians. They’re architects of an energy you can feel in your bones

They didn’t just play their set—they built a bridge between their art and our hearts.

When the music stopped, Andrew came into the crowd. This was a Unicorn in the jamband scene for sure. Again, the word you’ve heard and will continue to hear me pound, homage was demonstrated so seamlessly.

No ego, no walls—just gratitude, humility, and genuine connection with the fans who’d just had their minds blown wide open.

And you’re seeing the work they do from stage as I know, unmotivated they nor does anyone in this article pay me. Are you the next individual to join their Facebook Community aka a support group for obsessed fans?

The Tour Continues—And You Need to Be There

I caught them at the end of their Orbital Tour, but lucky for all of us, they’re already knee-deep in their Outer Space Tour.

If you’re anywhere within a 100-mile radius, cancel your plans, find a babysitter, or call out of work—do whatever you need to do to be in that room.

It’s impossible that you’ve still not found a show on their Orbital Tour to hit, I cannot end this without sharing the most Purpose Chasers of stories of how Dharma Bums

And if you're really committed (like me), catch them in Vermont:

Trust me, it’s not just a concert—it’s a transformational experience.

It is my plan to catch Dizgo for a full interview at the Pickle Barrel or before in New Hope at Dharma Bums. I have spoken with Steven, one of the founders and awaiting a call back.

Since that night,
DIZGO has taken over my playlists. They’re dropping scorching hot live recordings on the regular.

Will I See You in New Hope, PA at Dharma Bums?
